Decland Finn smiled today. What an amazing milestone!!
And to make it extra special Daddy was able to see him smile too. We were sorting laundry on our bed while I fed Finn...and when he was done eating we talked and talked to him until he coo'd and gave us a smile.

Knitting Update

I got lots of loose ends tied up this week such as drawstrings and washing/blockings that needed to be done. I listed two soakers and a FFS drawing at Bitty Fluff and a skirtie listed at Laurel Love.Boutique . Not sure what's next to go on the needles. I looked through my yarn stash and couldn't find trim for anything I want to knit up so I may end up at The Knitting Experience later this week for some cascade or malabrigo to use as trim.

Happy 11th Birthday Logan!

Logan turned 11 years old today. Or should I say he'll be eleven years old at 9:46pm.
He had his family party yesterday (combinded with Garrett's since Garrett was sick last weekend...and yep..he was still sick this weekend).

Happy 1 Month Declan Finn!!

A month ago today we welcomed our new baby boy into our family.
What an amazing blessing he has been.
I can't wait to get to know him more as his personallity begins to show.



His one month appointment is coming up so I'll add his weight/length stats then.

It's hard to believe two wonderful years have passed since welcoming him into our family.

Knitting Update

Last knitting update for January 2010! I don't have as much time as I used to have to knit...but I think the year is off to a good start. Up this week are a soaker and then I should have new wool in to knit Finn a few pair of longies to get him through Spring and then it's onto shortie and soaker season (June/July/Aug.) knitting.

Knitting Update

Ok, now that the baby is here I'm totally inspired and back knitting. I removed a few items form the list (Christmas themed longies....among other items) and updated everything I'm working on...or is sitting collecting dust. I'll be posting a store update as soon as I have my items complete for the first stocking.

Garrett's Stocking - 75% done (hibernating...so I'm going to take this off the list next week)
Emerald Sheepy Sack for Finn - 100% done, just have to weave in the ends. I'm going to sell this on Bitty Fluff since we have more than enough wool in this size
Newborn Santa Hat - 95% done (I need to finish this up this week so I can get my needle back)
Spring Rainbow mittens for me - 50% done (ditto the santa hat...)

8lbs, 19.5" long, 14.25" head

A 20+/- hr labor filled with interventions I didn't want (rupture of membranes, internal monitor, fetal electrode monitor, nubane, pitocin...just to name a few) ended with 8 intense minutes of pushing with a healthy VBAC'd baby boy. Finn's birth was my longest and hardest but worth every moment of pain the second he was placed on my chest. I am so thankful I was able to have a VBAC and not go through another c-section.
